The Elcometer 99 Adhesion Test Tape, also known as ASTM Tape, is used in conjunction with both the Elcometer 107 Cross Hatch Cutter and the Elcometer 1542 Cross Hatch Adhesion Tester as a way of instantly assessing the quality between the bond and substrate, quickly, easily and efficiently.

The Elcometer 99 Adhesion Test Tape offers users of the Permacel P99 ASTM tape which was discontinued in 2009, a close equivalent when used in accordance with ASTM D3359 – the cross cut adhesion test method for measuring adhesion using the tape test.
Under independent testing completed in 2010, using samples of Permacel P99 adhesion tape (both within and outside of the tape’s expiry date) and another two possible alternate ASTM tapes proposed by the ASTM D01.23 Sub-Committee responsible for the D3359 Standard test method, the Elcometer 99 Adhesion Test Tape, unlike the others tested, has been proven to be a very close equivalent to the Permacel P99 tape.

The TQC Cross Cut Adhesion Test KIT CC1000 is used to test the adhesion of dry coats of paint on their substrate by means of a series of cuts through the coating. Two series of parallel cuts cross angled to each other to obtain a pattern of 25 or 100 similar squares. The ruled area is evaluated by using a table chart after a short treatment with a stiff brush, or adhesive tape for hard substrates.
The round cutting knife of the TQC Cross Cut Adhesion Test KIT CC1000 has eight cutting edges that can be changed easily by rotating the knife. The self positioning knife bracket of the TQC Cross Cut Adhesion Test KIT CC1000) ensures equal pressure on the cutting knife.
Each TQC Cross Cut Adhesion Test KIT CC1000 contains a grip with cutter, a brush, an illuminated loupe and a roll of adhesive tape acc. EN ISO 2409.
Application Adhesion Tester appropriated to measure the adhesion of coatings or paints. Designed and made by NEURTEK. The cross cut test uses a blade to cut through the coating to the substrate. At least two cuts are made that intersect at 90 degrees to get a right angle lattice pattern. The cross-cut area is observed for any adhesion failure. Adhesion Test Method
A test dolly is bonded to the coating using an adhesive. The Elcometer 106 adhesion tester houses a spring arrangement which applies a lift force to the dolly as the tension is increased. When the coating is pulled off the surface, an indicator on the scale shows the numerical value of adhesion strength expressed in terms of the force per unit area required to remove the dolly. Inspection of the dolly face is required to determine the failure mode. To increase sensitivity at low values or for uneven surfaces, a 40mm (1.52”) dolly is available. When using the 40mm (1.52”) dolly, divide the scale reading by 4.
